Wondering how to get the vaccine now that it is open to all those age 16+? See below for customized instructions depending on your health district.

Schedule Your Vaccine Appointment TODAY: All Virginians ages 16+ are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Here is how you can get the vaccine in the Central Shenandoah Health District (CSHD)

  1. Visit vaccineappoitments.virginia.gov to make an appointment for a CSHD clinic. You can find clinics in our health district by using your zip code to search for appointments. CSHD will no longer be posting available clinics on our website.
  2. Visit vaccinefinder.org and use your zip code to find appointments at local pharmacies and healthcare providers.
  3. Visit vaccinate.augustahealth.com to make an appointment at Augusta Health. These appointments are available to those ages 16+ who live, work, or go to school in the Central Shenandoah Health District.

If you are having problem making an online appointment, please call your local health department. Please help us reserve the phone lines for those with limited internet access and/or low computer literacy.

CSHD will continue to invite to clinics – via email and phone – those pre-registered individuals who are eligible for the vaccine in Phase 1a, 1b, and 1c and anyone eligible in Phase 2 who pre-registered before April 18th.

Community members eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in Phase 1a, 1b, and 1c are encouraged to continue to pre-register for a COVID-19 vaccine at vaccinate.virginia.gov.

CSHD will also start accepting walk-in appointments at public COVID-19 vaccine clinics. Appointments for CSHD vaccine clinics are still preferred. The only way to guarantee that community members will get a COVID-19 vaccine at CSHD clinics is to register for an appointment prior to arrival. Walk-in appointment availability is dependent on vaccine supply at clinics.

Second Dose Appointments: There are a three ways to schedule your second dose appointment:

At your 1st dose clinic, there will be a QR code for your to scan with your smartphone and schedule your 2nd dose appointment.
If you don’t schedule your 2nd dose appointment at your 1st dose clinic, you will receive an email with registration information.
If you don’t have email or are unable to schedule online, you will receive a phone call from our health department staff and they will help schedule you for your 2nd dose appointment.

If you are unable to make your corresponding second dose appointment, please visit our website. There are also more second dose vaccine appointments available at vaccineappointments.virginia.gov. CSHD will post second dose appointments for the following week every Friday below. These appointments are only for those who received their first dose at a CSHD clinic. Spots are limited. Please continue to check back for more clinics.
