Holding the Line on Taxes
“Our families already pay too much in taxes. In the Senate, I
have opposed higher taxes while looking for ways to reduce
wasteful spending. If the Commonwealth cannot fund its top
priorities, it has no business spending taxpayer dollars on
other pet projects.”
Better Schools for Virginia’s Children
“I will continue to keep education as one of my top priorities.
The Commonwealth should keep more of its resources in the
classroom, where it directly affects the students of Virginia.”
Protecting Valley Values of Faith and Family
“Deep faith and strong families are the foundation for our lives
in the Shenandoah Valley. I’ve sponsored legislation to prohibit
public library users from viewing pornographic material on
library computers. In Richmond, I have also stood strong to
punish internet predators who seek to victimize young children
online. In my second term, I will continue to work to promote
our Valley Values for the preservation of our heritage and our
children’s futures.”
Strengthening Public Safety
“In the Virginia Senate, I have worked hard to put criminals
behind bars and enhance penalties for gangs and drug felons. My
bills have targeted co-conspirators in murders and drug dealers
in the Commonwealth. I want to continue to send a message to
Virginia’s citizens that they can rest assured that their
government is working hard to protect them from potential
dangers.”
Protecting 2nd Amendment Rights
“I believe very strongly in the preservation of our gun rights
in Virginia. I have worked alongside the NRA to maintain
Virginians’ gun rights. As a sportsman myself, I seek to protect
our rich tradition of gun ownership here in the Commonwealth.”
Transportation
“In Richmond, I have fought to keep transportation spending fair
and efficient for the Shenandoah Valley. Like other parts of
Virginia, our area has sustained major growth and our roads are
being stretched beyond capacity. I will continue to work to
ensure that our transportation needs in the Valley receive
adequate funding from Richmond.”
Illegal Immigration
I fought for bills that would stop rewarding illegal
immigration. I have fought illegal immigration tirelessly, and I
am not about to give up. It is too important an issue. In the
Valley, we are paying a heavy price for government's
unwillingness to confront this issue.
