Removing Virginia’s Barriers to Ridesharing

07/06/2014 | News |

You can do a lot from your cellphone these days — but if you’re in Virginia, don’t bother trying to schedule your ride home with one. While ridesharing companies such as Uber and Lyft are shaking up transportation options in other states, they’ve been put up on blocks in the commonwealth owing to outdated laws that stifle innovation and discourage competition.

McAuliffe Brings Washington-Style Unilateral Executive Action to Virginia

Virginia's 26th

Virginia's 26th Senate district includes the City of Harrisonburg and the counties of Rockingham (part), Shenandoah, Page, Warren, and Rappahannock.

The Shenandoah and Page Valleys are some of the most beautiful areas in all of Virginia. Rich in beauty, history, and heritage, people from around the world are attracted to the bountiful entertainment and sites right here in the 26th District. It is a great place to raise a family, and I am honored to represent this beautiful and friendly district.

Not sure if you're in the 26th? Find out here, examine a detailed map of the 26th (pdf), or view a map of all of Virginia's state senate districts (pdf).
